The hanging cheek snaffle offers mild encouragement for a softer outline. The lozenged mouthpiece of this bit eliminates the 'nutcracker' action of a single joint of which some horses find uncomfortable. Being made from Copper the lozenge has a warmer feel therefore encouraging salivation and acceptance. A lozenged mouthpiece tends to be more preferable and comfortable to horses with a large tongue and low pallet.
