S/iron L/ring Oval Link Snaffle

Loose ring cheeks on this snaffle allow the mouthpiece to slide on the rings therefore assisting in preventing horses which tend to 'lean' or 'fix' against the bit. The oval link mouthpiece of this bit eliminates the 'nutcracker' action of a single joint of which some horses find uncomfortable, it would be particularly beneficial to a horse who has a low pallet or thick tongue. Unlike the French Link, this bit will apply more tongue pressure (albeit mild pressure), due to its shape which is beneficial to a horse which may lack a little in responsiveness. Being made from Sweet Iron, this mouthpiece is designed to oxidise (rust) in the horses mouth, which produces a sweet taste horses enjoy thereby encouraging the horse to mouth and salivate improving bit acceptance. This particular bit features the Korsteel ®JP mouthpiece, which has been designed with a 'curve' in the bars which makes the bit more comfortable for the horse to wear, reduces contact with the roof of the mouth, reduces the 'nutcracker' action and direct tongue pressure.

It is important to note that as Sweet Iron is a softer metal it must be checked on a regular basis over time to ensure that there isn't any damage, which may cause discomfort to the horse.
